Terms of Service

By accessing or using Japanese System, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Japanese System is a free Chrome extension and companion website that tracks Japanese study time, displays personal analytics, and supports optional community features such as public profiles, leaderboards, achievements, and challenges.

You must be at least 13 years old, or older if your jurisdiction requires a higher age for online services. Google OAuth is the only supported sign-in method. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure.

You retain ownership of any information you submit or sync. You grant Japanese System a limited license to process that information only to provide, secure, and improve the service. You are responsible for ensuring that any data you sync or submit does not violate third-party rights or applicable law.

Public profiles, leaderboards, activity feed entries, and challenge participation depend on your privacy settings and product rules. We may remove or hide content, profiles, leaderboard entries, or participation records that appear abusive, deceptive, unlawful, or harmful to the service.

• Do not use the service for unlawful, harmful, abusive, deceptive, or infringing activity.
• Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, quotas, authentication, row-level security, privacy controls, or technical restrictions.
• Do not scrape, crawl, overload, reverse engineer, or interfere with the service beyond normal browser use.
• Do not submit or sync data that you do not have the right to use.
• Do not manipulate study data, challenges, achievements, ranks, or leaderboards dishonestly.

Japanese System is currently provided free of charge and on a best-effort basis. We may change, rate-limit, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, including integrations with Chrome, Supabase, Google, YouTube, Netflix, TMDB, or Vercel.

Japanese System depends on third-party platforms including Google, Supabase, Vercel, the Chrome Web Store, YouTube, Netflix public datasets, and TMDB. Their terms and policies may also apply to your use of related functionality.

Japanese System owns its name, website design, source code, interface, brand elements, and curated product experience. These Terms do not give you permission to copy, resell, or redistribute Japanese System intellectual property except as allowed by law.

You may delete your account from the account page. We may suspend access, remove public visibility, or terminate access if you violate these Terms or create risk for other users, third parties, or the service.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AVAILABILITY, ACCURACY, OR SECURITY.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Japanese System will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages. Total liability for any claim is limited to INR 8,500 or the amount you paid to use the service in the previous 12 months, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold Japanese System harmless from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your use of the service, your synced or submitted data, your public profile or community activity, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts located in India will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable law requires another forum.
